SUITES
All our spacious suites, apartments and villas are dotted around ten hectares of cultivated gardens, each one opening onto a series of private courtyards filled with lush greenery and the sounds of water trickling from nearby fountains.
Rooms feature high-domed ceilings, hand-painted frescoes, comfortable bathrooms and king-size beds made with Egyptian cotton from Malaika Cairo, an organisation established by Margarita Andrade, one of the property’s owners. Malaika Cairo is dedicated to empowering women in the region through teaching embroidery and craftsmanship, and also through her social enterprise Threads of Hope, which has contributed many of the hand-made textiles to be seen throughout the hotel.
Each room is unique in its detail, with antique furnishings chosen by Zeina herself, original David Roberts prints, historic photographs, pieces of antique Suzanis and other textiles, all discovered during her travels around the Middle East. The well-stocked library contains an eclectic selection of books, with many specialist volumes on the history of the region.
